About Me
As a clinician, I believe wholeheartedly that every individual is capable of living their best life, in-line with their most authentic self. I also believing in the importance of a holistic therapeutic process, reflecting that all aspects of our lives have an intrinsic affect on our mental health and wellbeing. As such, I approach my clinical work through a lens that is:
-
Multiculturally Oriented
-
Feminist
-
Systems Based
-
Trauma Informed
This allows for my client’s respective identity and lived experience within complex social systems to be reflected throughout the entire therapeutic process.
To make sure treatment is tailored to the needs of each individual client, I utilize a holistic
Person-Centered approach in-tandem with Psychodynamic, CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) . I work with a wide array of clients, many of whom face challenges related to:
-
Depression
-
Anxiety
-
Attachment Trauma
-
ADHD/ Neurodivergence
-
Self-Esteem
-
LGBT(Q)
-
Minority Identity
-
Life Transitions
-
Stress/Burnout
-
Body Image/ Disordered Eating
Through our therapeutic work and by holding a safe space for processing and moving through trauma, my clients learn to cultivate self-healing and fulfillment, improved of emotional regulation and coping abilities, along with improved interpersonal functioning and an increased quality of life.
In addition to my clinical work as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am also a leader and organizer in my community. My community organizing work focuses on centering and uplifting the voices of marginalized community members and the working class surrounding healthcare accessibility and human rights. My work in community organizing has deeply informed my clinical work and vice versa. I am a strong supporter and advocate for The New York Health Act and believe that all people should have access to quality healthcare regardless of race, class, or employment status. While we work to impart systemic change, I remain paneled with most major insurance carriers and am featured as a provider with Alma and Headway . I also offer a sliding scale fee for individuals who are uninsured or underinsured to help make quality mental health care more accessible
